Fast becoming one of the most popular destinations in Spain,
Valencia is booming! The transformation of its working port into
one of Europes´ finest Marinas for the Americas
Cup also led to the glamorous city hosting its first Grand Prix
on a purposely designed, Marina street circuit.
The newly constructed street
circuit in Valencia will hold its second European Grand Prix
in August 2009, the 5473km track boasts top speeds of over 300km/hr
with average speeds of 200km/hr. 25 turns help to make this circuit
a challenge to the best of drivers. 14 metres wide along the entire
length and with appropriate run-off areas the purpose built circuit
not only enjoys all the benefits of a street circuit but also meets
all the modern safety specifications as the permanent tracks.
A
purpose built swing bridge was put into place to help make the Valencia
Street Circuit a real Marina - side track, rarely leaving the waters
edge including crossing from the South to the North marinas.
The track passes through the historic fish market area, excitingly
close to the waters edge before leaving the docks through the shipyard
gates. A brief diversion along the river Turia before a tight hairpin
sends them heading back towards the harbour via Avenida de Francia.
The pits and team garages are located in the former port stalls,
making this European F1 Circuit a real blend of technology and history.
Valencia
Rentals have accommodation and
apartments ideally situated for the
European Grand Prix.
